Traditionally used to add structure to blended wines, petit verdot stands confidently on its own with rich aromas of ultra ripe blueberry and black currant. Inky and opaque, the wine spreads across the palate with a dense brooding character and big, yet well integrated tannins.
The components of Merry Cellars’ 2008 Petit Verdot spent and average of 19 months barrel aging in 33.3% Hungarian (50% one year old, 50% new) and 66.7% American (75% one year old, 25% new) oak.
